Craps is one of the few truly social games played in modern Casinos, and one of the few played with dice.
While the game does look complex and has its own extensive jargon like ‘boxcars’, ‘hard ways’ and ‘horn bet’ it is a relatively simple game to master. The first roll in a Craps round is called the come out roll. These
bets, along with the basic "pass" and "don't pass" bets, are
explained in the accompanying diagram. Other players may join in and place their own bets. Depending on the bet placed by the player, the player is either betting with (Don't Pass Line bet) or against (Pass Line bet) the house winning. Any other number becomes the players "point". Each dealer handles all the players on his side.
In the simplest form of the game, you place a bet on the Pass Line and attempt to roll a 7. When a Come or Don't Come point is established the Come and Don't Come Bets are moved to the appropriate numbered box. It is an attempt to win a Pass
Line bet by rolling 7 or 11. Pass Line bets lose if the come-out roll is 2, 3 or 12. The first roll is called the Come Out roll. If any other number is rolled, a Point is established.
